In Episode 35 of The Suffolk Pod Show, listeners are introduced to the inspiring journey of Bridget McIntyre - former CEO of Royal & Sun Alliance, past High Sheriff of Suffolk, and founder of the social enterprise, Dream On. Bridget's story is a testament to the power of aligning professional success with purposeful community engagement.

Bridget's rise in the corporate world is marked by significant achievements. Her tenure at Royal & Sun Alliance saw her breaking glass ceilings, culminating in her recognition as the first female CEO within the company. Her leadership style, characterised by authenticity and a commitment to people-centric values, set her apart in the traditionally male-dominated insurance industry.

After a distinguished corporate career, Bridget sought to channel her experience into initiatives that foster personal growth and community well-being. This led to the establishment of Dream On in 2010, a unique boutique in Eye, Suffolk, that doubles as a Community Interest Company (CIC). Beyond offering fashion and styling services, Dream On reinvests its profits into programs that support individuals facing challenges such as illness, unemployment, or low self-esteem. These initiatives include complimentary makeover days and development workshops, aiming to restore confidence and a sense of self-worth among participants.

Complementing Dream On's mission is The Blossom Charity, another of Bridget's ventures focused on personal development. Through coaching, workshops, and style sessions, the charity empowers men, women, and teenagers to realise their potential. The programmes are designed to be accessible, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most, regardless of their financial situation.

In 2020 Bridget was awarded an MBE for her services to women, acknowledging her efforts in creating platforms that empower and uplift. Her story serves as an inspiration, illustrating how skills honed in the corporate sector can be redirected to effect meaningful social change.

Bridget's journey from the boardroom to the heart of community service exemplifies her purpose and compassion. Through Dream On and The Blossom Charity, she continues to make a tangible difference, proving that leadership is not just about professional success, but also about the positive impact one can have on others,
